At Books 4 The Kids, we want every child to love their books. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we offer a straightforward returns and refund policy to ensure you have peace of mind when shopping with us.

2. Thirty-Day Return Window

You have thirty days from the date of receipt to return any item purchased from Books 4 The Kids for a full refund or exchange. This applies to all products sold on our website, provided they meet the conditions outlined in this policy.

3. Conditions for Returns

To be eligible for a return, items must meet the following conditions:

  • Books must be in their original, unopened condition with all packaging intact
  • Books must be in a resalable state with no markings, damage, or wear
  • Original receipt or proof of purchase must be provided
  • Items must be returned within thirty days of receipt

We understand that sometimes you need to inspect a book to ensure it is suitable. If you have opened a book and found it damaged or significantly different from its description, please contact us immediately. We will assess the situation and work with you to find a suitable resolution.

5. Return Shipping Costs

The responsibility for return shipping costs depends on the reason for the return:

  • Change of Mind: You are responsible for the cost of return shipping
  • Our Error or Defective Item: We will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs

We recommend using a tracked delivery service for returns to ensure your package reaches us safely. We cannot be held responsible for items lost or damaged during return shipping unless we have provided a prepaid label.

6. Refund Processing

Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it to ensure it meets our return conditions. If the return is approved:

  • We will process your refund within fourteen business days
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
  • You will receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed
  • Depending on your bank or card provider, it may take an additional three to five business days for the refund to appear in your account

The refund amount will include the product cost and original delivery charges (if the return is due to our error or a defective item). If the return is due to a change of mind, the refund will be for the product cost only.

7. Exchanges

If you would like to exchange an item for a different product, please follow our return process and place a new order for the item you prefer. This ensures you receive your new item as quickly as possible. If the exchange is due to our error or a defective item, we will prioritise your new order to minimise any delay.

8. Damaged or Defective Items

We take great care in packaging our products, but occasionally items may be damaged during transit. If you receive a damaged or defective item:

  • Provide photos of the damage or defect if possible
  • We will arrange for a replacement to be sent at no additional cost
  • Alternatively, if you prefer, we can process a full refund

If you receive an item that is different from what you ordered, please contact us immediately. We will arrange for the correct item to be sent to you at no additional cost and provide a prepaid return label for the incorrect item. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

10. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned unless they are damaged or defective:

  • Digital downloads or e-books
  • Gift cards or vouchers

11. Partial Refunds
